Florida Finally!!

Well we arrived in Clearwater, FL yesterday afternoon.  I have only been on the west coast of Florida once and that was last year to see the Latitudes and Attitudes, Strictly Sail Show last year.  The Gulf of Mexico is beautiful, the sand is like sugar.  This was an area that there was concerns with the "Oil Spill". We did not find any evidence.

We went to Palm Harbour today, there was a bikerfest show and shine as well as a car show!  Those baby boomers sure have the toys!

Leg One - Road Trip

Well the first phase of road trip is now completed.  We left home under clear skies, sunshine and lots of wind.  The traffic through Mich, Ohio not bad.  We are now in Kentucky. Some of the horse ranches here are HUGE!.  I do not want the job though of having to keep those white fences painted and looking good.  I do love the accent though.  Tenn, Georgia tommorrow and the top end of Florida.

Down to The Wire

Well, we are almost ready to go.  The car needs to be packed. The last cheques sent to the government so that they have their taxes on time. American Cash on hand! The paper maps are in the glove box along with the handy dandy GPS. The fridge has a few good items left inside and the trash is ready for the curb!  The leaves are still falling but at least "old man winter" has not caught up with us here in Windsor yet.

We are leaving earlier than planned due to some nasty weather heading in this direction, plus an extra day on the I-75 lets one take their time, stop a few times, enjoy Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia and then finally the "Sunshine" State.

Chris the "Captain" has all his tools packed, charts, pocket novels and of course his swimsuit are ready to go! He is ready for "Leg One" - The Landlubber Route to the Sea!

10 Days To Go

It's getting down to the wire now. It's checking those endless lists of "Things To Do". Planning, I think is the key! The questions one asks oneself - do I pack this? what if, did I use it last year, always come to mind. And the ultimate....Is there enough room in the car?

The "Car" in any adventure, needs to be "No. 1". It get's you where you are going, safely and on time.  The brakes have been checked, the oil changed, windows washed, the dash all shiny, the tires are good, the glove box is full of paper road maps.  All you need now is a full tank of gas, cash and your passport.  Now you will be ready for the "First Leg of The Trip".
